The creation of this journal was made as a way to express ourselves through art & poetry. Also it's a collaboration between two people who are very far away from each but share an amazing friendship.

I was totally inspired today as our new President was sworn into office.  I had written this poem before and thought it might fit this historic event.

here, among the gathered. 

words of hope and gratitude

ring throughout the village

this change and strength renewed

wake up little one, come see your future's dawn

hurry sweet promise, hurry

bring change for everyone.

see there in the distance

joined hands bridge our weary souls

hold up my brother's shoulders

less he grow tired  and stumble from the cold

declare your gift of freedom

and mercy for the weak

feed the retched poet

who's lost the will to speak

fix the poor man’s window

so he won't feel the chill

bring comfort  to  the solider

who is humbled by the kill

take away the pain

of those desperate for revenge

bleed for the hearts

whose innocence won't be avenged

pray for the lost

that God grant restitution

pray  that his word clear up all our confusion

pray for your country

for every child, every man

pray your will be done lord

and may God bless this great land
